Shady Creek is an outdoor education program sponsored by the Sutter County Office of Education. Meridian Elementary School is one of the few schools that does not require a fee from the students. The Parent Club of Meridian Elementary School raises money throughout the year to provide our students the opportunity to take part in this wonderful activity. For more information on Shady Creek, please click the address below. Starting the 2017-18 school year, Meridian School will send 6th grade students only on an annual basis.
Meridian Elementary School is committed to providing the best possible education to our students. Thus, our District goes to great lengths to see that our children are receiving extra assistance. Some teachers at Meridian School remain after school to conduct a tutoring session with any student who chooses to stay. We will also use high school student volunteers to tutor our students. This is a voluntary program for the students but teachers will often encourage at-promise (at-risk) students to take advantage of the program. Bus riders to Colusa will either stay for tutoring or will have to be picked up at school at 3pm. The bus will return at 4pm for Colusa students. Any other student needs to have transportation home provided by the family.
