i-Ready & Student Intervention

Using information to understand student needs and support academic growth.

What Is i-Ready?

i-Ready is an educational program that helps teachers understand what students know and what skills they are ready to learn next. It provides information that can help teachers identify areas of strength as well as areas where a student may need additional support.

Our goal is growth.

i-Ready information is one of the tools our teachers can use to better understand student learning and provide instruction that meets students where they are.

How i-Ready Supports Learning

i-Ready information can help teachers make informed instructional decisions and identify skills that may need additional attention.

Identify Strengths

Teachers can identify skills students have developed successfully and use that information to continue building on those strengths.

Identify Areas for Growth

Results can help teachers recognize skills where a student may benefit from additional instruction, practice, or support.

Guide Instruction

Teachers can use information from multiple sources to help plan instruction and provide learning opportunities based on student needs.

What Is Intervention?

Intervention is additional, targeted support provided to students who need extra instruction or practice in a specific academic area. Intervention is designed to address identified learning needs and help students make progress toward grade-level expectations.

1. Identify

Teachers look at student information and classroom performance to identify areas where additional support may be helpful.

2. Support

Students receive targeted instruction or practice focused on the skills they are working to develop.

3. Monitor

Student progress is monitored to help determine whether the support is helping the student move forward.

4. Adjust

Instruction and support can be adjusted as student needs and progress change.

Looking at the Whole Student

i-Ready is one piece of information used to understand student learning. Teachers may consider i-Ready results along with classroom work, assessments, observations, participation, and other available information when determining how best to support a student.

Every student learns differently.

Our goal is to provide students with the instruction, encouragement, and support they need to continue making academic progress.

How Families Can Help

Families play an important role in supporting student learning at home. Simple routines and encouragement can help students build confidence and develop positive learning habits.
